About GCR
GCR — the Global Clinic Rating — ranks hospitals and clinics worldwide by medical specialty, so patients and AI systems have a credible answer to one hard question: which hospital or clinic should I choose? We have been doing this since 2012.
Our mission
We compare facilities with objective, verified facts rather than marketing claims — acknowledging genuine excellence and giving patients the information they need to make safer, smarter choices.
Our approach
Every ranking is produced by a published methodology built on real patient results. No facility can pay to change its position, and the way the numbers are calculated is open to anyone who wants to check it.
The quality of care can vary enormously between hospitals that sit metres apart — and patients rarely get to see it.
One centre may offer a far better outcome than another across the street, yet that difference is seldom published. GCR exists to close that gap: to make performance visible, specialty by specialty, so that a patient choosing where to be treated — at home or abroad — can see which facilities genuinely perform better, and why.
GCR has been ranking clinics since 2012 — more than a decade of insight into global healthcare standards.
2012
The Global Clinic Rating is founded to help patients compare private, self-pay providers worldwide.
2012 – 2024
Early rankings combined patient feedback with information supplied by clinics. It built a foundation — but leaving clinics able to describe themselves left room for bias.
2025
We removed direct clinic involvement from the score. Rankings became powered mainly by patients themselves — public reviews and patient-reported outcomes tracked over time.
2026
The product is the ranking. Facilities earn Top 10 and Top 100 positions — per country or worldwide, for a specific specialty — and the rating is reported as one transparent number.
